Welcome!! Some basic info for staying at Pelican’s Perch:
- Please park at the street in front of the main house between the mailbox and pelican statue. Guests are welcome to use the driveway for unloading & loading luggage, etc, but you are asked to leave the driveway clear while staying at Pelican’s Perch.
- The water quality on St Simons is safe, but most people say that it doesn’t taste very good. The water in the fridge door is filtered, but the main kitchen sink is not. There is a Brita water pitcher provided in the fridge if you want to filter the water for drinking. Please only use filtered water in the Keurig coffee machine.
- Please do not flush feminine products or other solid items down the toilet or other drains. This will keep the plumbing working properly.
- The entrance to Pelican’s Perch can be very dark at night. It is recommended to leave the outside deck light on if you will be returning after dark. There is a motion light above the steps, but it usually does not turn on until you are already up a good portion of the stairs
- Trash will be taken care of for you when you check out. If you want to take out any smelly trash, it can be taken down to the car port and placed in the large trash can with the black lid. Any recycling (except glass) can be placed in the car port cans with the blue lids. Leave any glass containers outside the door on the deck, and they will be recycled separately. There are new trash bags under the kitchen sink. Regular trash pickup is early on Monday morning. Please add any trash to the cans by 8pm on Sunday evening before they are taken to the street.
- There are spare towels under the bathroom sink, and spare sheets under the bed if you need them. You are also welcome to contact Peter & Carson who can help if you need it.
